A drug trafficking investigation involving members from the Collingwood & Huronia West Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) with assistance from uniform members of the OPP was completed in early September after months of work.

The CSCU initiated an extensive drug in April focused on a male suspect involved in cocaine trafficking in Collingwood. He was observed to have been consistently engaged with related activities throughout the next several months.

Eventually, the 27-year-old suspect from Toronto was arrested in Wasaga Beach on September 2. He was charged with trafficking cocaine and failing to comply with a probation order.

Upon a search, officers seized more than 84 grams of cocaine, a digital scale, and two cell phones. He was held in custody for a show cause bail hearing.
