Collingwood Colts helping to give seniors a lift

Junior A hockey club hosting fundraiser during February 28th match

The Collingwood Colts are helping to support the region’s seniors with a special fundraiser during an upcoming game.

During its February 21st game against the Toronto Patriots, the Collingwood Colts Junior A hockey club will be hosting a “Give A Lift” event in support of the County of Simcoe’s Long Term Care and Seniors Services Bus Fundraising campaign. Five dollars from every ticket sold will be donated towards the purchase of a new resident bus for Sunset Manor in Collingwood.

Those interested in purchasing a ticket or supporting the Give a Lift Campaign are encouraged to visit the ticket vendor website and enter the promo code GIVEALIFT.

“A big thanks to the Collingwood Colts for hosting Give a Lift Hockey Night and supporting the campaign,” said Warden George Cornell. “These buses are truly vital to the continued socialization of our residents who rely on them to take part in activities, programs and services in their communities. Join us for the game, support the Colts and help us chip away at our fundraising goals.”

The Give a Lift campaign started last year and hopes to raise $450,000 to purchase four accessible buses to serve County-owned long term care facilities.
