Three people taken to hospital following fire in Collingwood

Damage was minimal

A fire in a third-floor apartment unit in Collingwood on Friday was electrical.

Fire Chief Ross Parr told Barrie 360 that two adult occupants and a County of Simcoe employee were taken to the hospital to be assessed for smoke inhalation.

Fire crews were called to the five-storey building on Second Street at High Street around 8:45 am.

The fire was contained to a single bedroom of the unit.

The damage is not considered extensive.

Parr confirmed the unit did have working smoke alarms.
