8 vehicles removed from road during commercial vehicle safety blitz in Bradford West Gwillimbury

Commercial vehicles came under the microscope in Bradford West Gwillimbury, and eight were placed out of service and removed from the road during a one-day safety blitz by South Simcoe Police, Ontario Provincial Police and Ministry of Transportation.

Police said the inspections on April 30 were held at the Bob Fallis Arena to ensure that commercial vehicles on local roads are safe and meet provincial standards.

The eight vehicles removed, according to police, were 35 per cent higher than the provincial average.

There were 23 commercial vehicle inspected.

  • 46 Provincial Offence Notices were issued
  • 2 sets of licence plates were removed

Main violations included:

  • Unsafe equipment (tires and brakes)
  • Insecure loads
  • Improper licence class
