Cops swoop in after reports of drug trafficking at residential building in Orillia

Police have charged two people and they credit assistance from the public that led to information about individuals allegedly trafficking drugs in a residential building on Fittons Road West near Park Street in Orillia.

Shortly after 6 a.m. on Thursday, Ontario Provincial Police executed a search warrant and took the suspects into custody. Officers also seized a quantity of drugs including fentanyl, meth, cocaine and 35 mixed capsules.

A 56-year-old woman and a 51-year-old man, both from Orillia, have been charged.

They are slated to appear in court Nov. 26.
