Cost of one-bedroom apartment last month climbed in Barrie as renters nationwide feel the squeeze

According to https://rentals.ca/national-rent-report, average rents across the country are up 20 per cent since the pandemic low in 2021.
Out of 35 municipalities surveyed, Barrie was 11th overall in the cost to rent a one-bedroom apartment, with an average price of $2,034, up 3.6 per cent in April compared to March, and 13.2 per cent year-over-year from April 2022.
The average price for a two-bedroom apartment in Barrie was $2,469, which was actually a 1.1 per cent drop last month compared to March, but up 18.5 per cent in April compared to a year ago.
The lowest price for a one-bedroom was in Regina at $1,091, while Vancouver led the pack at $2,787.
