The County of Simcoe is set to reintroduce fares on its transit system.
As of Thursday, July 2, LINX Transit will begin charging its usual fare, after having waived the cost to ease hardships during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The County says its transit service will follow the newly introduced Ministry of Transportation Public Transit Safety Guidelines to reduce the risk of spreading the virus, including asking riders to maintain a safe physical distance, removing all belongings and waste when leaving the bus, and sneezing into their elbow.
Face coverings or non-surgical masks are highly recommended for LINX passengers, but the County says it understands there are circumstances for children and people with disabilities that would prevent them from wearing masks. Operators will be wearing appropriate safety gear.
Visit the county’s transit website for information on routes, schedules, and fees.
