Two people were injured, one critically, in a 3-vehicle collision on Highway 400 in Vaughan.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say it happened in the northbound lanes north of Teston Road around 10:30 Monday night.

Police say a crossover vehicle that was travelling at a high rate of speed rear-ended an SUV causing it to crash into the back of a tractor trailer.

OPP said the driver and passenger of the SUV, a 59-year-old woman and a 64-year-old man, were transported to the hospital in critical condition. Later, in a post to X, police said the woman's injuries were now believed to be non-life-threatening.

The right lane remains closed for debris removal.
