No one taken into custody following closure by police of Dunlop Street East

Uniform officers and the Tactical Response Unit responded based on the nature of the call

A small section of Dunlop Street East in downtown Barrie was closed Wednesday afternoon for a police investigation.

Police say around 2 p.m, officers received a call to a location on Dunlop Street East between Owen Street and Mulcaster Street.

Based on information that was received, police say uniform members and the Tactical Support Unit responded.

Dunlop Street East was closed for about one hour.

Video posted to Twitter showed several tactical officers entering a building.

Police say the investigation remains ongoing. There is not believed to be a threat to the public, and no one has been taken into custody.

Police added further details will be released if the investigation permits.
