Barrie Police are looking for a vehicle they say fled the scene after striking a cyclist on Wednesday.

They say this happened around 6:40 a.m. at the intersection of Leacock Drive and Edgehill Drive.

A 45-year-old female was taken to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

"It is believed that the vehicle was a dark coloured SUV, possibly a Mitsubishi. The vehicle was last seen travelling northbound on Leacock Drive. The vehicle likely has damage to the front passenger sideview mirror and the front passenger fender," police said in a news release.

Investigators are looking for anyone who may have witnessed this collision, or anyone in the area of Leacock Drive or Eden Drive who has security camera / doorbell camera or dashcam footage to contact Cst. Hallahan at ahallahan@barriepolice.ca or 705-725-7025 ext. 2712.

If you have information and wish to remain anonymous, please contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or online.
