Dates You Can Take Your Family Fishing For Free

Introduce a newbie to fishing!

This Barrie 360 feature is presented with Legend Boats Barrie

Introduce a friend to fishing! Ontario Family Fishing Events is a province-wide initiative where Canadian residents in Ontario can fish without an otherwise mandatory fishing licence.

This year, the Ontario government has designated four licence-free fishing periods. The great news? Three of those designated times are coming up this summer:

May 11 – 12, 2019 (12:01 a.m. Saturday to 11:59 p.m. Sunday)
June 15 – 16, 2019 (12:01 a.m. Saturday to 11:59 p.m. Sunday)
June 29 – July 7, 2019 (12:01 a.m. Saturday to 11:59 p.m. Sunday)

If you take part in an Ontario Family Fishing event you still have to adhere to the Conservation fishing license limits (you can read the Ontario Recreational Fishing Regulations Summary here). Besides the licensing requirement, all other Ontario fishing regulations, fees and limits still apply during license-free days.
