Tiny Township is reporting dead birds washing up on beaches throughout the muncipality.
Township staff have contacted the Canadian Wildlife Health Cooperative, which has collected bird samples for testing. No cause has been confirmed.
Residents who find dead birds or fish on township-owned beaches are asked to contact the Public Works Department for pickup and disposal.
Anyone handling dead birds on private beaches should wear a mask, gloves and eye protection, and avoid direct contact.
The township says the birds should be double-bagged and left at the side of the road, with Public Works contacted to arrange pickup.
