December Arrives Like A Lion

Messy mix of snow, ice pellets and strong winds to launch a new month

Forecasters are tracking a weather maker stateside that is expected to bring a wintry mix to our region.

Environment Canada has posted winter travel and or snowfall advisories. Barrie to the GTA can expect ice pellets and snow on Sunday, with about 5-10 cm on tap. Northern Simcoe County and Muskoka will see more snow with this storm, at least 15 cm.

The track of the system is still a bit uncertain, so the forecast may be adjusted.

Another issue will be wind gusts of between 60 and 70 km/h per hour causing blowing snow and reduced visibility.

If you have any road trips planned, today will be ideal compared to Sunday.
