Disney Plus is rebooting Home Alone because of course they are

Hopefully it won't be what the French call, "les incompetents"
Home Alone 6
Now you might be thinking "oh great, another reboot" and rightly so, but the new Home Alone reboot coming to Disney Plus looks to be tapping into some interesting talent.

You might be thinking "oh great, another reboot" and rightly so, but the new Home Alone reboot coming to Disney Plus looks to be tapping into some interesting talent.

Firstly, Archie Yates is set to play a brand new character similar to the original lead role of Kevin McAllister. You might know Yates for playing a rather adorable Nazi Youth in Jojo Rabbit. He will also be joined by Rob Delaney, Ellie Kemper, and the recently announced Chris Parnell.

There is talent behind the camera (or more specifically, the script) as well with two writers from Saturday Night Live, Mikey Day and Streeter Seidell, penning the screenplay.

If the idea of rebooting the franchise doesn't sit right, we would point out that while Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York are both staples of Christmas they did spawn 3 additional sequels, all more terrible than the last, so the franchise isn't exactly perfect to begin with.

No release date has been set but, it's safe to assume it will be releasing during the Christmas season in 2020 or 2021.
