It seems like such a long time since we first saw Donald Glover play quirky weirdo Troy Barnes in Community and since then his success has been astounding. Now, he has just signed a multi-million dollar deal that will see him write, produce, and star in a number of new Amazon content.
One of the projects that is already confirmed is a remake of the romantic action-comedy Mr. and Mrs. Smith which Donald will star in and joining the film alongside him will be his former Solo co-star, Pheobe Waller-Bridge. Another project that is rumoured to be in development is Hive, a series following a Beyonce-like figure with help from the writer of the recent Watchmen series, Janine Nabers.
For fans of Donald Glover's most recent and critically acclaimed series, Atlanta, don't worry, this new deal will not impact the production of that show. Seasons three and four of Atlanta are planned to be shot back-to-back and Donald was sure to include an option in his new contract to continue work on Atlanta past season four and keep the series going if he so chooses.
