Driver being sought after a pedestrian was struck at a Midland crosswalk

The pedestrian was crossing in the area of County Road 93 and the Mountainview Mall

The search is on for the driver of a pickup truck that Southern Georgian Bay OPP allege struck a pedestrian at a crosswalk in Midland and left the scene.

OPP said this happened on Thursday, Sept. 17 shortly after 4 p.m. at the intersection of the south entrance/exit of the Mountainview Mall and County Road 93.

Police said the pedestrian was crossing at the crosswalk and was hit by a white pickup truck turning south on to County Road 93. The pedestrian was knocked to the ground and run over. There was a verbal confrontation and the driver left the scene. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The driver is white, male, about 40 years of age, and at the time was wearing an orange high visibility construction type shirt and a baseball cap.
