Driver charged with impaired following fail-to-remain crash in Barrie

Police allege the driver had a blood alcohol level nearly four times the legal limit

A mid-morning crash on Wednesday has resulted in several charges to a 49-year-old Barrie man.

Police say shortly after 11, officers responded to a report that a vehicle crashed into a parked car on Pine Drive. They were told that the vehicle left the scene and drove to a nearby address located on Spruce Crescent.

The motorist was located and placed under arrest for impaired.

The driver was taken to the police station where the investigation continued.

Police allege his blood alcohol level was nearly four times the legal limit.

The man was charged with impaired driving and driving a motor vehicle without a licence.
