Drunk driving charges laid after motorist drove right up to Midland’s cop shop

Police in Midland say a motorist sure made an officers’ job easy.

Southern Georgian Bay OPP were contacted around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday with reports of a possible impaired driver in town. An officer caught up to a vehicle matching the description provided, heading westbound on Heritage Drive in Midland. The officer followed as the vehicle pulled right into the OPP detachment parking lot.

The driver of the vehicle was taken inside the police station for further questioning. A 35-year-old from Barrie has been charged with impaired driving. A charge of mischief charge was tacked on after government property was damaged while the accused was in custody.
