DUI Charge Laid After Stolen Vehicle Was Returned Home

A stolen vehicle call has lead to a Drunk Driving arrest.
South Simcoe Police got the call about a vehicle stolen from an Innisfil home Tuesday. While enroute to the home, police were informed the vehicle had been returned. Officers arrived to find the suspect being held by a bystander who claimed he’d been assaulted for his trouble. The victim didn’t require medical attention, but police say the suspect had the smell of booze on his breath.
A 55-year-old Guelph man is facing charges of Impaired Driving, Driving While Disqualified, and Assault.
