Duo Behind #MeToo Anthem To Headline Mariposa Folk Fest
First Aid Kit's You Are The Problem Here Called an "Assault On Men Who Sexually Abuse Women"
A Swedish folk duo will kick off this year’s Mariposa Folk Festival.
The three day festival this year descends on Orillia July 5th to the 7th and will feature First Aid Kit as the summer festival’s headliner. The duo gained prominence after their song You Are The Problem Here became a sort of anthem for the #MeToo movement, after the song was released in honour of last year’s International Women’s Day. The festival’s Artistic Director, Liz Scott says “This sister-fronted indie band from Sweden is known for sparkling live shows, angelic harmonies, intertwining vocals and peppy humour. They’ve been hitting their stride lately and getting noticed all over the world, so it’s going to be lots of fun to have them grace our Friday Mariposa Main Stage.”

The Mariposa Folk Festival boasts over 100 artistic performances of emerging and established folk artists on 11 stages over a three-day period.
