Man Advised to Wait For Daylight

It started as a suspicious person call, ended with a man in hospital.

South Simcoe Police say a 57-year-old Thunder Bay man was taken to hospital after his e-bike was struck by a vehicle.

Police say they recieved a call about a suspicious person pushing an e-bike in the area of Killarney Beach Rd. and Yonge St. in Innisfil around 1:30 Wednesday morning. Officers arrived to find the man’s bike battery had died. Officers took the man to a nearby charging station, asking that he wait for daylight to take off.

Around 5:00 that morning, police were called to the intersection of Highway 89 and Yonge St. to find the same man had been struck by a vehicle. The vehicle driver remained on scene.

The e-biker is said to have suffered non-life threatening injuries.
