Elderly Bradford man accused of possessing cocaine

Cocaine found in vehicle stopped in Bradford over licence plate violation

A senior citizen is accused of being in possession of cocaine after a traffic stop in Bradford.

South Simcoe Police say there was a problem with the vehicle’s licence plate, so they pulled a vehicle over on Holland St. in Bradford around noon Tuesday. That’s when the officer spied drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

The K9 unit was called out to take a closer sniff and discovered a quantity of narcotics was located. A 71-year-old man is now facing a charge of cocaine possession.

Meanwhile, South Simcoe Police are asking for witnesses to a separate crime: several cabs were vandalized at Town Taxi on Holland St. in Bradford overnight Tuesday to Wednesday. Anyone who saw anything or has video of the area is urged to contact Constable Ranjit Sandhu at 905-775-3311, 705-436-2141 extension #1409.
