Lakeshore Ridge will provide support and services for up to six individuals who have complex needs.

News release from Empower Simcoe

On August 24th, Empower Simcoe cut the ribbon on its new state-of-the-art supported living home located in Oro-Medonte. The 6,000 square foot home, called Lakeshore Ridge, will provide support and services for up to six individuals who have complex needs.

“In partnership with the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, and MacKenzie Health, cutting the ribbon on Lakeshore Ridge is a tangible reminder of our mission to empower people to lead a meaningful and inclusive life by providing the highest quality of services,” says Empower Simcoe CEO, Dr. Claudine Cousins.

Along with the support of the Ontario government, private foundations, corporations,
area service clubs and the general public, the Empower Simcoe Foundation’s $250,000 capital campaign has contributed funds to assist with the purchase of furniture, landscaping, and décor for the home.

“Individuals with developmental disabilities deserve the right to fully participate in their communities and live fulfilling lives. Your support will help them to Be, Belong and Thrive,” says Empower Simcoe Foundation President Victoria Ptasiuk.

Empower Simcoe is excited to soon welcome the individuals who will call Lakeshore Ridge their home.

Our gratitude to everyone in the community for coming with us on this journey.
