Local small business, Fleurish, is thrilled to announce they are hosting their first Summer Night Market on July 18th from 5-9 PM at the Fleurish Studio and Canopy Co-working building. Proceeds raised at the event will be in support of their Fresh Start Internship Program, geared towards empowering women in their community. This vibrant event will feature food and drinks, live music, and a variety of local vendors. Families are welcome, with activities planned for kids too, ensuring a fun evening will be had by all!
Fleurish is a non-profit floral studio creating beautiful fresh flower arrangements for local customers while facilitating its Fresh Start Internship Program for women facing barriers to employment. Fresh Start is a paid, transitional work experience offering employment-based skills training, personal and professional growth and community support in a safe and therapeutic environment. Fleurish is dedicated to empowering women in their community, and funds raised at events such as the Summer Night Market makes this possible!
"We are thrilled to bring the community together,” says Emily Day, the Founder and Director at Fleurish. “With this event, we can support local makers, bring our community together, and share more about our Fresh Start Program. Any funds raised at our market go towards facilitating the training and curriculum while also supporting our interns however we can.”
Over 20 local artisans from the Barrie area and beyond will be present to offer an assortment of handmade goods. From seasonal wreaths, to stained glass hangings, to crochet goods, there will be something for everyone. Attendees can also look forward to vendors demonstrating their craft and talents. The full vendor line-up can be found on Fleurish’s social media pages.
Live music by local musician David Stone will add to the evening's atmosphere. Stone, who has performed across Ontario and other parts of Canada, can be likened to the works of The Tragically Hip, Gordon Lightfoot, and Neil Young.
Guests can indulge on Indigenous-Caribbean street food or grab a sweet treat from various vendors. Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for guests to purchase and enjoy as they explore the market.
Tickets for raffle prizes featuring products donated by vendors will be sold, with all proceeds going directly towards supporting Fleurish’s Fresh Start Internship Program. To date, Fleurish has been able to provide approximately 4000 hours of training, while connecting their interns to local supportive services helpful in gaining meaningful employment. The support continues with their Fleurish Village, a community of past Fresh Start Interns.
Enjoy a fun-filled summer night at Fleurish's upcoming market, Thursday, July 18th from 5:00-9:00 PM while making a difference in the lives of others; empowering women, the community and local small businesses.
