Love It Longer Swap

Refresh your wardrobe and make a difference. Wasaga Beach’s Love It Longer Clothing Swap returns May 8–10 at the RecPlex—inviting residents to embrace sustainable fashion while directly supporting local kids in sport.

The popular event transforms pre-loved clothing into community impact. Every item purchased helps reduce textile waste—one of the fastest-growing sources of landfill—while 100% of the proceeds from this year’s event will fund a long-awaited training jump harness for the Wasaga Beach Figure Skating Club. The specialized harness is a game-changer for young athletes, helping skaters safely learn and land jumps, build confidence, and progress their skills.

“This event shows how small choices—like reusing clothing—can have a big impact,” said Mayor Brian Smith. “You’re not just updating your wardrobe and keeping textiles out of landfills—you’re helping local kids train safer, dream bigger, and succeed on the ice.”

Shoppers can browse a curated selection of gently used clothing, shoes, and accessories, including a new formal wear section just in time for prom—plus a children’s area featuring clothing and toys.

Here’s 3 things you need to know: 

• With a flat entry fee, attendees can take home as many items as they like.
• New this year, the event will kick off with an exclusive, ticketed First Dibs Friday experience, featuring mocktails, music and early access—set against a backdrop of spring florals, patio lanterns and relaxed, boutique-style vibes—giving attendees first pick of the best items.
• Onsite seamstresses will also be available for minor repairs and alterations, helping extend the life of each find even further.

From May 6–8 at the RecPlex, the Town will be accepting donations of gently used clothing, outerwear, shoes, accessories, and toys. (Please note furniture and household items will not be accepted.)

• Thursday, May 7 from 12:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

• Love it Longer “First Dibs Friday” exclusive early bird event: Friday, May 8 from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. ($20/person)

• Saturday, May 9 from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. ($15)

• Sunday, May 10 from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m 10 AM – 3 PM ($15)
