Celebrate National Indigenous Peoples’ Day at Sainte-Marie among the Hurons with Legends of Lacrosse—an exciting, hands-on experience that brings the Creator’s Game to life through culture, history, and play.
Meet the legends:
- Brad Kri, professional player with the championship-winning Toronto Rock
- Jim Calder, lacrosse historian and former world champion
Interactive highlights:
- Test your shot at the Lacrosse Speed Net Challenge
- Learn about and try traditional Indigenous games
- Join a Ways of the Wendat tour exploring First Nations perspectives and worldview
Skills sessions with the pros (pre-registration required)
- Led by professional players, including Brad Kri
- $6 + tax (in addition to event admission)
- Limited to 60 participants per session – early registration is encouraged
- Two sessions only:
o 11 a.m. to noon: Ages 11 and under (U7–U11)
o 2 to 3 p.m.: Ages 12+ (U13–U22)
Hands-on cultural experiences
- Make your own corn husk doll
- Create a miniature clay pot
- Enjoy Three Sisters soup in the cookhouse
- Roast bannock over an open fire
