The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (R.O.P.E.) Squad would like to advise the public that a Federal Offender who went unlawfully at large on February 15, 2024, has been apprehended in Peterborough.
Derek POWELL was located and arrested by the ROPE Squad.

The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (R.O.P.E.) Squad is requesting the public's assistance in locating a federal offender wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant as a result of a breach of their Long Term Supervision Order.
DEREK POWELL is described as a white male, 54 years of age, 5'8" (173 cm) 260 lbs (118 kg) with brown hair and green eyes.
POWELL is serving a seven (7) year, six (6) month and fifteen (15) day Long Term Supervision Order for:
- Assault with a Weapon
- Threaten Death and Bodily Harm - 2 counts
- Forcible Confinement - 2 counts
- Assault Peace Officer - 2 counts
- Mischief
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order - 4 counts
The offender is known to frequent the Greater Toronto Area, Peterborough, Simcoe County, York Region and Durham Region.
