Fentanyl, bear spray, baton seized following traffic stop over missing licence plate in Huntsville

Three people facing charges in connection to Wednesday incident

A missing licence plate has led to drug possession and weapons charges.

An officer with Huntsville OPP spotted a vehicle with no rear licence plate exiting Highway 11 to West Road on Wednesday and pulled the vehicle over into a nearby parking lot. That’s where police say they learned the vehicle did have a front plate, but that it was stolen.

Officers say a search of the vehicle turned up a quarter gram of fentanyl, an expandable baton, and bear spray. All three of the vehicle’s occupants were charged with drug possession, while one was also charged with weapons possession, and another charged with possession of stolen property.

All three are expected in Huntsville court in mid-March.
