Fewer new cases of COVID in Simcoe County this week compared to last, and fewer last week compared to the week before

Fifth day in a row province saw fewer than 100 new cases

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit announced just two new cases of COVID-19 were added to its caseload on Friday. That brings the week-to-date total to nine.

There was one case each in Barrie and in Innisfil on Friday, both are women between the ages of 18 and 34.

Last week, the health unit confirmed 13 new cases in total, and 16 the week before. There were 20 new cases the week before that.

Meanwhile, Public Health Ontario marked its fifth day in a row with fewer than 100 new cases added to the provincial tally; health officials say there were 88 new cases province-wide on Friday.
