The Ontario Fire Marshal has been called in following a house fire at a residence on Essa Road east of Anne Street in Barrie.
Firefighters battled the blaze at the two-storey residence on Tuesday night.
One person who was in the home was able to get out safely.
Barrie Police are holding the scene for investigators, who will try to determine the cause of the blaze.
A damage total was not available.
