A 15-year-old boy is up on several charges following an altercation with a Barrie homeowner.
Around 12:25 on Thursday morning, officers responded to weapons call at a residence in the area of Townline Road and Mapleview Drive West.
Police say prior to their arrival, there was an altercation between an individual and a youth after the homeowner saw suspicious behaviour that involved a young person at a nearby residence
"When the homeowner engaged the youth in conversation, the youth became enraged and aggressively approached the homeowner. A fight ensued between the two, and a firearm fell from youth and landed on the road," according to police news release on Thursday.
As the youth fled, he allegedly uttered threats towards the homeowner.
Police say they seized a semi-automatic airsoft-style pistol.
Later, officers went to a home in central Barrie where a suspect was taken into custody.
The teen has been charged with breach of recognizance, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and uttering threats to cause bodily harm or death.
The boy was held in custody pending a bail hearing on Thursday.
