Ontario Provincial Police say they have laid numerous charges against three men from the Greater Toronto Area and seized a firearm in connection with an incident near Kidd Crescent in Alliston.

On Tuesday around 3 a.m., police say a vehicle they tried to stop fled from authorities and was located a short time later, and discovered to have been stolen.

"As a result of the investigation, a firearm was recovered and three individuals were taken into custody and charged," OPP stated in a news release on Thursday afternoon.

The suspects are a 23-year-old from Scarborough, a 19-year old from North York and a 17-year-old from Toronto.

The trio have each been charged with several gun-related offences including robbery using a firearm, as well as break and enter into a house, trespassing by night, conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

The 23-year-old is also charged with flight from police, and the 19-year-old was dinged with a mischief charge.

The suspects have been remanded into custody and are to appear in court in Barrie.

Kidd Crescent was the scene of a daylight shooting outside a home last Thursday.

OPP have not said there is a connection between the incidents.

In the shooting, a 21-year-old man was wounded, and police said they were looking for three males who were wearing dark clothing and masks and fled the area in a white Camry.
