A float plane crashed in Lake St. John in Ramara Township.

Around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, emergency crews were called to the scene.

Orillia OPP said on Wednesday morning in a news release that the plane crashed into the water while landing.

Civilians in a personal watercraft brought the pilot to shore.

Police say the pilot, the lone occupant onboard, sustained minor injuries and was sent to a local hospital.

The Transportation Safety Board (TSB) has been called to complete the investigation into the cause of the crash.
