Four arrests, 198 charges laid following crime spree from Barrie to Toronto

Five search warrants were executed in Bradford and Innisfil
South Simcoe Police investigating series of weekend vehicle thefts
Police charge four drivers in four days following spate of drunk driving, hit-and-run calls over the weekend

Four men face charges as part of a string of property-related crimes spanning Bradford, Innisfil, Barrie, York Region and Toronto.

South Simcoe Police say their Street Crime Unit began an investigation in July.

The thefts involved break and enters at stores and commercial properties where numerous items were taken including tools, equipment and vehicles.

Police executed five search warrants in Bradford and Innisfil where they recovered a quantity of stolen property including 8 stolen vehicles, a skid steer, a commercial dumpster, a forklift, numerous chainsaws, construction saws and pieces of construction equipment, several pressure washers and about $100,000 worth of conductor wire.

The suspects who have been charged are:

  • 50-year-old from Innisfil
  • 48-year-old from Bradford
  • 30-year-old from Innisfil
  • 31-year-old from Newmarket.

The charges include:

  • break and enter
  • theft over $5,000
  • trafficking stolen property
  • possession of property of crime
  • motor vehicle theft.
