Four impaired driving charges laid in Orillia-area in 24-hour period

Same week four Stunt Drivers charged near Wasaga Beach

From four stunt drivers charged by Huronia West OPP in one shift to four impaired drivers charged by Orillia OPP in a 24-hour period.

On July 18 at 7:30 pm, officers were patrolling Highway 12 near Highway 11 in the City of Orillia when they spotted a vehicle stopped on the side of the road. After talking with the driver, they had reason to believe he had consumed alcohol. A 45-year-old Orillia man was charged.

An hour later, a 33-year-old St. Catharines man was charged after a traffic stop on Highway 400 in Springwater Township.
 
Then, just before midnight, an officer on West Street in Orillia observed a vehicle pass through an intersection and collide with a tree. The driver, a 42-year-old Orillia man, was not hurt. He was charged with Operation While Impaired and Careless Driving.
 
Early on the morning of July 19, officers conducted a traffic stop on Highway 12, near Wainman Line in the Township of Oro-Medonte. A 23-year-old Orillia woman was charged with impaired driving offences.
