Four new COVID cases in Barrie as provincial caseload addition surpasses 100

Local health unit confirming six cases across the region

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit kicked off the week by announcing six new cases of COVID-19 have been added to its caseload since Friday.

Of the six cases confirmed Monday, four are Barrie residents. The other two are from Bradford. This brings the caseload up to 686 people to date. Of those, 627 have recovered, 37 have died, leaving 22 active cases.

This comes as Public Health Ontario confirmed 105 new cases of COVID-19 province-wide since Sunday’s update. There were also 78 recoveries since the last update, along with one life lost.

Ottawa, Peel, and Toronto reported double-digit caseload additions on Monday, while the majority of Ontario’s 34 health units reported no new cases at all.
