Four youths charged with attempted murder in stabbing of teen in Barrie

The victim suffered life-threatening injuries

Four teens are facing charges including attempted murder in the stabbing of another youth in Barrie.

Shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Apr. 30, 2022, first responders were called to 37 Johnson Street near Blake Street for a report of a stabbing.

A 16-year-old boy from Barrie was transported to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre then airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre with life-threatening injuries. According to police on Monday, there is no change in the teen's condition.

Three 16-year-old males and one 17-year-old male are now facing charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.

The suspects were remanded in custody after their arrest.

Under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, police say the identities of the arrested persons cannot be released.
