A Ramara Township man will have his day in court after police laid charges in connection to construction work that never started.
The Orillia OPP’s Crime Unit was involved in two separate investigations involving the same allegations, one stemming from an incident in late August, the other from late September. Police say substantial amounts of money were paid to a contractor who never started the agreed-upon work.
Following police investigation, a 51-year-old man was charged with two counts of fraud, and two counts of possession of stolen property. He is expected to appear in Orillia court in mid-December.
