To showcase students who are currently studying and innovating on campus, Georgian College hosts an annual RISE Series.
RISE is a celebration of the research, innovation, scholarship and entrepreneurship that takes place at Georgian College campuses across the province. The Series brings together industry leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs and forward thinkers.
This year’s RISE Symposium will take place April 19 to 20 and is open to everyone. You will enjoy:
- Talks by engaging guest speakers
- Live sessions that inspire critical thinking
- Demonstrations of innovation by staff, faculty and community members
The RISE Series at Georgian College also includes the RISE Summit. This is a professional development event for Georgian employees and community members. The event happens each June to spark new ideas and conversations.

Georgian College’s Research and Innovation Department is also introducing a new element to this year’s RISE event. They’re asking students, faculty, attendees and the public to take part in the #thisishowiRISE challenge.
Simply upload a short video to a social media channel of your choice with #thisishowiRISE. If you tag @researchinnov8, the Research and Innovation Department will donate $20 to an award benefiting students.
