Awesome news for Ghostbusters fans with the announcement of a few new projects

Sony Pictures, along with Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan from Ghost Corps, say a sequel to last year's "Ghostbusters: Afterlife" is coming, and this time they return to where it all began, New York City.

In addition to the film, we have two new animated projects to look forward to.

Works began on a yet-to-be-titled animated film based on "Ghostbusters" IP, with Chris Prynoski and Jennifer Kluska set to direct.

An animated series show is also being developed for Netflix. The original animated series "The Real Ghostbusters" ran from 1986-to 1991. Details on the trio of projects are being kept quiet for now.

Overall, not a bad day on Ghostbusters Day (June 8th), marking the anniversary of the first film, which was released on June 8th, 1984.
