GO Transit Maintenance Making for A Rough Night’s Sleep

Depending On Location, Some Could see 1-2 Nights of Disruption

A Barrie woman took to Twitter to air her frustration over some ruckus coming from the GO Train.

The video was reportedly shot around 11:30 pm Wednesday from a home near Minet’s Point and Hurst Drive.

A Metrolinx spokesperson says ongoing maintenance is to blame. “Metrolinx has a track maintenance program along the Barrie corridor which involves resurfacing the tracks to ensure smooth and safe operation of GO trains along the line. The program is part of regular ongoing maintenance across the network and is moving southward along Metrolinx tracks at a rate of two kilometres per night. The adjacent residents should not experience impacts from this work more than one to two nights depending on location.”
