Good Samaritan helps rescue assault victim in Innisfil
Woman was treated for non-life-threatening injuries
South Simcoe Police is praising the action of a Good Samaritan who came to the aid of a woman fleeing a domestic assault in Innisfil.
On Friday evening, police were alerted by a woman that was she was physically assaulted by her boyfriend who refused to allow her to leave the house.
Police say she eventually managed to flee on foot with the accused following in his vehicle. The woman flagged down a citizen who drove her to the South Simcoe Police station on Innisfil Beach Road. She was treated by paramedics for non-life-threatening injuries.
A 26-year-old Innisfil man was charged with assault, forcible confinement and assault with a weapon.
