Currently, on its second day, Google I/O, Google's virtual developer conference, has already made some exciting announcements, including a brand new way to connect with people online: Project Starline.
Project Starline is a technology project from Google that combines advances in hardware and software to allow people to connect in a new way, with a life-sized, three-dimensional projection. Google describes it as "looking through a sort of magic window".
Being able to talk to holograms of your friends or family is definitely something out of a sci-fi movie and while we might not hear about anything else quite as drastically futurist, Google I/O still has two more days to go so we're sure to hear about a few more interesting pieces of tech before it wraps up on May 20.
