Gunshots fired outside Barrie home

No arrests have been made
Barrie Police

Barrie police say nobody was injured after shots rang out at a home on Penetang Street near Berczy Street Monday night.

Spokesperson Peter Leon tells Barrie 360 that two people approached the home, and one person stood off to the side as the second individual knocked on the door. Leon says when the door was opened, there was an altercation and a man who was off to the side fired several shots with a gun.

Leon says the suspects, a black man and a white woman, fled in a grey or light blue SUV.

Police say there is nothing at the moment to suggest the individuals involved knew each other.

"We're trying to determine what prompted that random visit at that time of night," Leon said.

Investigators ask witnesses or anyone with dash cam or security footage of the area from around 10 p.m. to contact them at 705-725-7025.
