In the wake of the announcement that Barrie Colts head coach Dale Hawerchuk was back in his fight against cancer comes a sliver of good news. The Hawerchuk Family has launched the “Hawerchuk Strong” initiative. A statement on their website reads that the goal of Hawerchuk Strong is to “raise awareness for the countless number of people that are going through the same thing; but also to raise as much funding as possible for hospitals and frontline workers who are putting their own health and safety at risk, every single day.“
