High-risk offender identified by Barrie Police living in community arrested in northern Ontario

A man identified by Barrie Police in a Community Safety Advisory last month has been arrested in northern Ontario.

In a tweet on Wednesday, police said he remains in custody pending a bail hearing.

Barrie Police communications coordinator Peter Leon did not know why Tony Gordon was arrested other than the investigation is being handled by Sioux Lookout OPP.

Last month, police issued an advisory that they believed Gordon was living in Barrie after being released from custody, and that his previous convictions range from break and enter, trespassing/prowl at night to sexual assault, and assault by choking, suffocation or strangulation.
