High-risk takedown on Highway 400

An early morning pursuit on Highway 400 ended with a high-risk takedown.

Around 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday, South Simcoe Police received information about a police pursuit in a neighbouring jurisdiction that was entering Bradford West Gwillimbury. Officers spotted the suspect vehicle in the area of the 8th Line and Barrie Street and conducted a traffic stop. The vehicle fled from police who engaged in a pursuit. The vehicle was stopped on Highway 400 when officers conducted a high-risk takedown.

A 48-year-old Bradford man was charged with flight from police and dangerous driving along with numerous Highway Traffic Act offences including stunt driving. The accused was held for a bail hearing. His licence was suspended for 30 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.
