Motorists were stuck in traffic for hours as southbound Highway 11 was closed in Oro-Medonte

Highway 11 southbound at Line 12, south of Orillia, reopened shortly before 5 p.m. on Thursday after a lengthy closure.

OPP say a tractor-trailer plowed through the centre guide rail this morning and ended up in a ditch off the southbound lanes near Line 11.

The driver suffered minor injuries.

The closure of the southbound lanes of Highway 11 resulted in motorists being stuck in traffic for as long as two hours.
