Two impaired drivers nabbed by Bracebridge OPP in less than 12 hours on Highway 11

Alcohol and drugs a factor

One is too many, try two on for size.

Bracebridge OPP on Saturday released details about nabbing two suspected drunk drivers in a span of 12 hours on Highway 11 on Tues. Oct. 7.

Police say around 9 a.m. they saw a motorcycle travelling at a high rate of speed. The driver was located on Beiers Road in Gravenhurst.

A 48-year-old man from Gravenhurst was charged with impaired driving by alcohol and operation of a vehicle while prohibited. As well, he was also charged with multiple offences under the Highway Traffic Act. The motorcycle was impounded for 45 days.

Twelve hours later, Bracebridge OPP received a call about a vehicle that had struck the centre median northbound on Highway 11. The vehicle was found on Rainbow Circle in Gravenhurst. After further investigation, police arrested and charged a 41-year-old man and the 40-year-old passenger, both of Bracebridge, with impaired driving by drugs.
