South Simcoe Police are investigating after a violent home invasion early Saturday morning in Innisfil that saw a firearm discharged, though no one was injured.

Officers were called to a residence on Orchard Avenue around 5:00 a.m. on April 4, after receiving a report that three masked suspects had forced their way into the home. According to police, one of the suspects was armed with a handgun.

Once inside, the suspects were confronted by the homeowner. Police say one of the suspects fired a shot at the homeowner, but fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

Following the confrontation, all three suspects fled the scene in a white Honda sedan.

Police describe the suspects as three Black males wearing dark clothing and face coverings. Investigators have obtained video footage from the residence and have released images of the suspects in an effort to identify them.

South Simcoe Police say the incident appears to be isolated, and there is no ongoing risk to public safety. However, residents in the area of Orchard Avenue, Warnica Avenue, and Mapleview Drive East (east of 25th Sideroad) can expect to see an increased police presence as the investigation continues.

Anyone with information, or anyone who may have surveillance or dash camera footage from the area between approximately 4:00 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. on April 4, is asked to come forward.
